Does Migration Assistant Transfer Norton to New MacBook?

I have Norton Security Premium for 10 devices and am currently using 7 on various Windows and Mac PC's/laptops. I have Norton installed on an ageing MacBook Pro and will be getting a new MacBook Pro in the next few days. I understand that you can transfer to data, apps and setting etc to a new Mac with Migration Assistant but, not having done this before, am unsure on how Migration Assistant will treat Norton.  a) Will it be transferred to new Mac as part of the process and increase my active subcriptions from 7 to 8? Or b) will it be ignored and not be transferred and require me to manually download and install it on the new Mac?

If b) then, presumably, I could quickly set up new Mac and dowload/install Norton before running the Migration Assistant.

Not been in this situation before so any help/guidance on how best to proceed would be greatly appreciated. I plan on keeping the old Mac running as a back up machine, with Norton on it for a while yet.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello MHaff. I would install Norton on the new computer directly from your Norton account because: If Norton does transfer to the new device, it will be detected as a NEW device due to its hardware and ID will be different. You also will have to use another license against your subscription either way you go to activate Norton on the new device. Norton cannot be installed on two devices at the same time using one license seat.
