I've found that using

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

or

http://superantispyware.com/

as compliments to my Norton product does a good job of keeping the system clean.

To answer your question, I don't know if ti will or not. The other products mentioned are usually better at removing non virus infections.
