I am trying to install Epson printer software for my new WF-3820 network printer. Installation repeatedly fails, with the report that it can connect to the printer, but cannot print. It can print over the Internet. Sorry, Epson customer support is useless.

The Epson software on Windows was able to connect to the printer (read ink, status, etc) but unable to print - hence my worry that ‘something’ was blocking that protocol or port.
However, after many hours of frustration it turns out that the problem was due to the current Epson Software Installer. Using an old Installer (from an old CD), it all worked.
But I feel sure I will hit this type of problem for another device in the future.
