Does Norton really need to control my screen etc?

I've just downloaded Norton onto my android. When I follow instructions to enable Accessibility, the phone warns me that this means Norton can "View and Control my screen" as well as other warnings that seem very intrusive. Is this really safe? And will Norton afford me any security on my phone if I don't enable this draconian Accessibility option? Whenever I try get it to do a security scan it just tells me to enable this Accessibility thing.

thank you

Controlling your screen would be to allow Norton to display warning messages as needed over what was being displayed.

Viewing would be for monitoring web sites you may be trying to access, so Norton can check the sites against known dangerous sites.

Any security is going to require permissions that for other apps would be questionable. You have to decide if you trust the app developer. If you do, you accept the permission request. If not, you can uninstall that app and try another.
