Double norton icon

I run Windows 7.  At the bottom right of the screen, on the start bar (sorry I don't  know the terminology) is the show desktop little blue screen, to its left is a digital clock, and to the left of that is a two uparrow chevron.
When I click that chevron, I see icons for my keyboard software, a backup program, an action  centre flag, and two Norton 360 yellow icons.  Why are there two?
I am fairly sure there has previously only been one, though I am not sure how long ago the extra one appeared.  Clicking either one opens Norton 360.

Norton is aware of this issue.

A setting that can stop the second icon is your Boot Time Protection. If you set it to Aggressive, the second icon should not be displayed. I'm not sure exactly where the setting is in 360, but in Internet Security it is under Settings - Computer - Real time protection.

In N 360 the setting @peterweb  is referring to is:

Settings > Antivirus > Automatic Protection Tab > Boot Time Protection > Aggressive > Apply

I still have this double icon problem in my Norton 360 (21.2.0.38)  even I have setted to Agressive in boot time, can anyone from Norton Technical Support explain this phenomenon ? and when the patch for fix this problem release?

Tks & B/regards,

Hi Handjojo,

Did you reboot after changing the setting to Aggressive?

Yes I do that.

Hi, Handjojo. While Symantec works on this, you can always hide the second icon in your tray by right clicking the notification area, and checking Properties/Customize. This is a workaround, if the two icons bother you.

This will not affect the normal operation of your Norton product.

Thanks for the help.  I chose those settings and will reboot.   Rather odd I reckon.
