I downloaded Norton 360 v5 from CNet.com. I did not read the system requirements like an idiot. This software does not work on my system (Windows Server 2008) . I am at your mercy... Am I able to be refunded for this purchase?
I contacted CNet and they told me to contact you because the credit card charge comes directly from Norton.
Ok I tried the online chat. They have no record of the order so I looked back at the purchase email and the credit card charge. It looks as though CNet takes the order, TrialPlay.com processes the credit card charge (merchant services), and Symantec doesn't really do anything. I've sent an email to TrialPlay. Hopefully something will come out of that
A bit of a financial cats cradle yarbrough40.....
Good luck, and hopefully you will get your money refunded soon. However if you do not get much sense in the near future from any of the organisations you mention you might like to contact your credit card company and say that you are thinking of disputing the payment. They should be able to get back to the real organisation that "took the money" fairly quickly and that might help.
But next time read the specs first it would have saved you a lot of effort.... ;-)
good idea... and yeah ultimately this is my fault, I get it. Thanks for the help with direction!
yarborough,
If you get absolutely nowhere with the CNET etc source that you purchased from (and I hope that is not the case) and since your CC Company just might not accept a dispute because you did not check the system requirements first do please go back to Norotn's OnLine Chat since Norton offers a 60 day warranty of satisfaction which applies even if you bought from some other authorized source (and I believe the CNET is one) and it applies even if you opened a retail package and installed it!
So don't give up ...
Can we help you idientify something that does meet your system requirements?
