Downloading Offline Updates on the Broadcom website

Good day all,

I have multiple versions of Norton Lifelock and Norton 360 on various systems that I maintain. I used to download definitions from the Broadcom website to perform offline updates as we do not have internet connectivity to the workstations. I see a message that the offline definitions can no longer be downloaded from the Broadcom website (see screenshot below). Do all Norton versions require a internet connection to update the definitions using LiveUpdate?

Hi @user13413 ,

Welcome to the Norton user-to-user support community !

I invite you to consult the last anoncement of @Selvakumar.S relating to this subject : Intelligent Updater has been deprecated for legacy Norton products

Cheers

So there will be no more updates for Version 22.x.x.x?

@xxyz That is correct. Intelligent Updater is now a thing of the past, Norton no longer supports it. Please review the previous linked article for the official statement. This is much aligned with a similar situation Microsoft is doing with Windows, forcing a newer product that some customers neither have the justified need for nor want.

Hi All,

We have noticed a few users reporting errors while downloading Intelligent Updater definitions.

As part of the transition to the new Gen security stack, Intelligent Updater has been deprecated. Over the past two years, we have been actively migrating existing users to the latest Norton platform and security infrastructure.

If you are currently using an older version of a Norton Antivirus or Security product, we recommend upgrading to the latest version using the following link:

https://branding.norton.com/win/Migration/32/NortonUpgrade.exe

Upgrading will ensure continued access to the latest protection updates and compatibility improvements.

If you encounter any issues during the migration or installation process, please reach out to our Support team for assistance.

Thanks !

Regards,
SA
