Downloading on Amazon vs Renewing?

Hi,

I've had Norton Antivirus for several years, and the time to renew is here again.  I was a little stunned at how much it now costs for two years.  Is there any disadvantage to downloading it from Amazon for one year for $20.21 as opposed to paying $94.99 for the two-year subscription?  I last renewed for two years in order to catch a break on the price, but that appears to be impossible now.  Thanks.

Hi Just-In,

No, there is no disadvantage to purchasing from Amazon.  Like any product, it is always best to search out the best deal for you.

A few items I would like to point out.

Be sure you are purchasing the same product whether it be NAV, NIS or 360. Also make sure it is a retail version and not marked as ‘OEM’.  Be sure it can be installed on the same number of household machines which  you currently have.

If you already have the most recent version of a Norton product, you do not have to re-install the same version.  You can just use the new activation key.

Please do not enter your new Activation Key until a day or two before your current subscription expires. Entering a new Activation Key will delete your remaining days and re-start your subscription at 366 days.

This is different from a Renewal Code which will add the new 366 days to your current remaining days.

Hope that helps.

Hi, Just-In. As Phil says, it is WELL worth shopping around. I bought a 1 user 3 PC disc for AU $25 a few months back.

As long as you have a valid key, on the UI you just click on Renew a few days beforehand, and click on I have a key or code to enter.

That's all you need to do to activate your new subscription.

Hello

And also please remember to run live update and to back up your programs..

Thanks, everyone!

And in case anyone is worried about the "quality" or safety of Amazon downloads of Norton products, they come from the Norton servers, not from a duplicate held by a third party .......

That's a very good point, Hugh. Worth reminding people to be careful when dealing with retailers, and that they  ARE genuine.
