Hallo zusammen,

 

habe eine Frage: Mir ist heute gerade aufgefallen, dass NIS 2012 bei mir kein kleines Fenster mehr öffnet, wenn ein Download abgeschlossen ist. bisher kam dann immer eine kleine Meldung, dass die Datei in Ordnung sei. Nun kommt gar nichts mehr. Neueste Updates habe ich und das Programm funktioniert auch sonst gut. Bei den Einstellungen auf "Download-Insight" ist die Benachrichtigung auf "Ein" gestellt. Ich habe Win7 64 bit. Hat jemand einen Tipp?

Welcome to the Users Forum.

 

You check a file just like you did with CA: right-click the file and select "Scan with Norton Internet Security".

Please advise if this isn't working correctly.

If you are using Vista 64bit, unfortunately the right click option is not currently available.

 

Here is a link to the limitations when using NIS 2009 on a Vista 64bit computer, along with a workaround for the right click issue.

I am running Vista on a HP Pavilion m9457c-b. I have NIS2009.

 

I want to know how to check a downloaded program with NIS. I put the installer is a file in my documents. When I was using a Computer Associates Security program, I could right click the file and "check with CA" would be in the drop-down box. I would click on "check with CA" and it would scan that file and tell me if the file was clean. Am I able to this with NIS and how do I do it.

Thanks for the link to the Vista 64-bit info.  My old PC recently died (good old XP) and I bought a new one with Vista Home Premium, but selected the 32-bit version.

 

New PC has 6X the RAM (3 GB versus 512MB) and NIS-09 does a full system scan MUCH faster.  Old PC took about 2.5 hours for 650,000 files.  New machine takes about 1.0 hours for 800,000 files.  I'm giving the credit for the speed boost to the significantly increased memory, not to Vista.

That does sound like a significant (and enjoyable) increase in scanning speed!
