EAP and Norton Security version 22.9.4.8

I am running Norton Security with Backup [or Premium - I'm not sure what it is called anymore!

 

Joined the EAP and when I ran liveupdate to get the beta I was asked to restart. So, I did. However, after that Norton would not load. I checked Task Manager, and two Norton processes were running, but Norton was not accessible anywhere ... I tried stopping those processes, rebooting again, etc. Never would load. I uninstalled from Control Panel, but when I reinstalled my regular product I ran into the same issue. I needed to run NRT to get things back in order.

 

My system is fine now, but I am wondering why I encountered this. Is the EAP not compatible with NS 22.9.4.8?
