When I try to send an email utilizing an alternate outgoing email address on MS Outlook I get the following error:

"550 5.7.0 From address mismatch: envelope and header"

How do I fix this?

Thanks

It actually comes up in a Norton error box.  I'd attach an image but this forum doesn't seem to allow it.

You can attach an image via the little icon that looks like a small tree, just below the "Quote" button.

Thanks.  Here's the image.

It will take a little time for the moderators to approve the image before we will be able to view it.

The error is, it seems, just being reported by Norton from the Mail Server.

Thank you.  I'll check it out.

This seems to be a very large article with lots of parts.  Any idea where I should start?

The first part of that article seems to indicate that Verizon has an issue with what is happening to your outbound email - it seems not to like what you are doing.

Sorry, but I can't find where you are.  Here is the TOC that your link takes me to.  What section of the document are you in?

You don't seem to be following the full link that I posted.

Do you have multiple accounts setup in your Outlook?

I would suggest you to contact your Email Provider or ISP to confirm whether they allow sending an email to other Email providers/mail severs through their SMTP server.

Yogesh

I have two email accounts set up in Outlook.

Hi hz7mfy,

Do both addresses share the same domain, such as "@verizon.net?"  Who is your ISP?  This is certainly a message from the ISP, likely being generated because you are somehow running afoul of some system that has been put into place to prevent the sending of spam.  (Norton sits between your email client and your ISP, so messages from the ISP that would normally be displayed in the client are instead displayed in a Norton pop-up.)  You may need to check with your ISP about how to configure your email client, particularly the outgoing mail port, to allow the use of multiple addresses.
