Hi,
Recently my email stopped connecting to my server to receive or send email -- after troubleshooting my email client (firefox Thunderbird) I uncovered it was something with my system. Here's how I came to that conclusion:
I verified my username and passwords were correct, I was able to successfully connect to my email using webmail and I was successfully receiving and sending email through my iPhone. I also tried a new email client (Windows Live) and had the same problem I was having in Thunderbird.
When I disabled email/message scanning in NIS everything worked fine -- when I turn it back on the connection problems come back; which is my email client can not connect to my email server to send or receive emails.
This problem starting showing up in the last couple days and before that everything worked just fine. I did not make any changes to my email account so I'm stumped as to what happened.
Can anyone help me out so I can turn the protection back on without compromising my email client? In the interim I'll have to keep the email/message scanning disabled.
Thanks in advance for your help.
