After installing Norton Security on a Dell XPS 13 with Win 8.1 collecting email from a provider which uses prts 25 / 110 fails with a server timeout error.,
Disabling the Port Control on ports 25 and 110 solved the issue, but NS keeps warning you about ' not properly protected' and when clicking on the Repair button the old settings are restored and mail collection will start to fail again.
As the Dell XPS13 is used by a not-experienced user who travels a lot I removed NS for now.
