Enable Login to Be Auto Submitted Problem

I am running N360 and using Identity ProtectionI used to use Omnipass for my username/password management and preferred it since it would enter the login info and then submit the info and automatically login me into the page, all within a matter of secondsNorton seems to run much slower and would not automatically login me inAlso, Norton would enter info when I was not on the login page anymore, causing many pages to scroll to the bottom because my e-mail address had been entered in a "join our mailing list" boxOmnipass never did this either.

However, when I installed Norton with Identity Protection the two programs seemed to have too many problems fighting with each other even though I wasn't using Identity ProtectionInstead of searching for a better way I uninstalled Omnipass and have been using Identity Protection since.

After upgrading to V3, I am pleased to see that the problem with with Identity Protection entering info in boxes after login appears to be resolvedI was also thrilled to see a ticker for "Enable Login to Be Auto Submitted."

I have this ticked on all of my login's and have tried a number of pages, the login info is entered as beforeAnd, as before, nothing else happensI assumed this ticker meant that I would automatically be logged into the page without having to do anythingIs this correct?

If so, why isn't anything happening on my end?

I am running Vista IE8

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Go to your Identity Safe Settings > Manage Log-ins > Configure and confirm that the entries for those Web pages are present. If the entries are not present, then the your login credentials are not stored in Identity Safe and that is why it is not auto-filling the details even though the option “Enable Login to Be Auto Submitted” is enabled. If the entries are present, try resetting your Identity Safe settings.

I'm sorry, I must have not been clear.  The login info is auto filling perfectly.  I have the ticker checked to enable autofill for each of my logins.  I also have the ticker checked that says "Enable Login to be Auto Submitted."

So, the username and password fields are filled in and nothing else happens.  I assumed that the Auto Submitting the login would log me into the page automatically without me having the press enter or the login button on the page.  But this is not happening.

I believe that this is in regaurds to navigating back to a previously loged into site so that the web site does not make you log in again.

Hi Delerium
Please select the login from the Cards & Log-ins menu in the Norton Toolbar and let us know whether it is auto-submitted. The Enable login to be auto-submitted option will submit the login automatically only if you visit the login page from Cards & Log-ins menu.
Thank you.

Best regards,
Adolf

Thanks, AdolfD.  Good information to know.

Thanks AdolfD.  Your solution seems to be part of the problem, I was using IE8's favorites menu to access the sites.  However, even though auto-submitting is enabled on all my logins it still does not work on some sites, such as e-bay, hotels.com and macys.com.  Along with a handful others.

Any help with this?

Thanks!!

Thank you for trying it out and for the quick response. Auto-submit feature could not work for some of the web pages due to their designs.

  1. We save the URL without saving the form data (present after the ? mark) from the URL. We do this to avoid saving users personal information (like, from where the login page is redirected etc) Some of the website like ebay.com won’t allow you browse certain pages without form data.
  2. We also auto-submit for login pages only with standard login forms (forms which have “submit/sign” in button of type button). The login pages of hotels.com and macys.com have the “submit/sign in” button of their own type (image). This makes us difficult in submitting the form automatically.
Hope this helps. Thank you.

Adolf

Well, that clears everything up!  Thanks for your help.  Do you know if Norton have any plans to improve this feature as Omnipass was able to auto-submit with all sites I visited and I was able to enter the addresses manually instead of using a list (like the norton logins).

Thanks Again!
