Encryption Software for home and personal use?

The only encryption software Symantec offers uses corporate licensing and pricing. Why not make it easily available for personal and home use?

I haven't checked lately but the last search for that type of product provided many links. I suspect that the addition of a consumer version isn't in the current business plan.
