I have received this second erroneous email on 20/4/24 advising that my Norton protection expires in 9 days despite the fact that it also states in the small print that the expiration date is 26/6/25.
This follows a similar email on 9/4/24 advising that my Norton protection expires in 20 days. On that occasion I chatted online to a Norton agent who apologised for the email and said that he would bring it to the attention of the sender, but obviously this has not prevented them emailing another one to me.
I'm curious to know if other Norton subscribers are also receiving these erroneous emails or is it only me? The agent did assure me that my subscription was not going to expire in 20 days and he even said that he would add another couple of months to my subscription to compensate me for having to bring it to their attention, (Presumably that is now why the above screenshot also shows an expiration date of 26/6/25), but it is nevertheless quite annoying to have received this second email after reporting the first one.
Thanks for the reply 9wood. I'm pretty certain that this wasn't a phishing email because it looked identical to the previous erroneous email that was sent from the address (see attached), and when I chatted with a Norton agent on receiving it, he confirmed that it was an automatic notification sent by Norton. He did also say that he would bring the matter to the attention of the department responsible for sending the email in order to prevent it happening again, but clearly they've not yet managed to solve the problem.
generally you get a year subscription ( sometimes can get 2 ) offers vary
why they would send this just over a year before it "expires" is not what i would expect
generally you get a renewal notice / reminder seems about 2 months by email to renew ( your subscription ends on xyz and card will be billed on or by xyz)
there have been phishing emails ( think bank, etc..) that claim you paid for or renewed this or that or need to do some update of information to be general
but i have recieved many of these ( been awhile since last one) claiming to be norton ( i paid for subscition etc..)
some of these phishing emails look rather generic and can tell its fake, while some are very convincing in appearance
if in doubt i say you can always check your account status on the norton site ( account information) and i believe in the my profile top left
