Error 3038-104 plus subscription error

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I noticed tonight that the auto-protect was red. I clicked fix now and it returned with more red and the message "not fixed". I restarted the laptop and attempted a quick scan, got the error message 3038-104.

I downloaded and ran the program to reinstall. Now I'm hung up as it won't proceed. It says that my product key expired. I checked my receipt and account, I don't expire until Jan 2016.

What now?

I've got a Toshiba laptop running Win 10. I didn't notice any problems until an update installed today.
