I renewed my Norton product on 2.17.14 to 360 Version 21.1.0.18. Started getting error 3038,104 a couple of days after that. Did the update/reboots and no changes. I also get the large 180+mB update at times. Opened and closed a chat help session and allowed remote control for repairs. Didn't work, still get 3038,104, large updates and also a msg. "Unable to connect to Symantec Help server. Please check your internet connection." Seems to be a pre-cursor to the above error after my system runs a full scan during IDLE time.
I think the earlier version of Norton may be affecting this new version!? I went through the threads and quite frankly I am not comfortable trying to go so deeply into my system to try and fix "protection" for my computer. I have an open case number in chat, can't they do this for me?
Best suggestion to help and fix please.
Widows 7 64, I use CCleaner and Malwarebytes also. System had no Norton errors like this prior to 360 that couldn't be addressed with simple fixes. Getting pretty deep now.

I tried the normal stuff and also had "chat" help that did not fix. Seems to me I need to uninstall/reinstall. Does that leave me vulnerable to attacks?
I noticed the product announcement from T Weiss and then D. Coleman about this error for folks like myself that had version 21.1.0.18. I went to NUC and manually entered version 20. I then updated to 21.1.1.7 and so far so good.
My computer is full speed again and no conflicts or error's in a day! We'll see if it lasts! I will update if it does not.
Worked for me: Windows 7 64-bit SP1 Upgrade from NIS 2012 and was having issues with 360 ver 21.1.0.18
