I am running NIS2009 with Vista Home Premium on a Compaq Presario SR5310F with 2GB Ram.
I have been running NIS2009 for several months with no problems. My installation was updated to the 16.2 version about 3 days ago. I booted up my computer this morning and after a few minutes a window popped up with "Symantec Service Framework Stopped Working". A report was sent to Microsoft. I did a reboot to see if NIS would start up and run normally which it seemed to do. I tried "One Click Support" and after several seconds it came back with "Checking Transaction Security: Fixed". I tried a full system scan which completed ok. However, when I logged on an Admin account and clicked on Computer Settings I was thrown into One Click Support which reported error 3040,40028 and wanted me to resolve it by downloading the Norton Uninstall tool etc. I cancelled One Click Support and tried several more attempts to get into Computer Settings. One Click Support came up every time. I decided to try a reboot. When NIS came back up I tried Computer Settings and no problem this time.
Has anybody else experienced a similar problem? What is error 3040,40028?
