Error "Computer not online"

Hello,

I am staying in Thailand, having travelled from the UK.

Norton Online Backup no longer functions, with error upon logging in successfully of:

"Computer not online".

I am using an Asus Eee PC netbook 1005P, running Windows 7 Starter, SP1, with Internet Explorer 10.

I have done:

Rebooted the computer = Made no difference.

I also did:

Add new computer > Accept licence > Download = Does not download.

I also did:

Got NOB from Softonic and installed it over the existing installation = Made no difference.

I also tried:

Turned off "Popup blocker" in Internet Explorer and attempted "Norton Chat" for assistance = The page cannot be displayed.

Please give me a solution to this issue.

I already followed the instructions in the support document which you link in your reply, and those actions are shown in my original message.

 

When I arrived in Thailand, I changed the "Default Location > Country" to Thailand - Is it really this, which has caused your rather sensitive software problems.

 

At the moment, your software is entirely useless to me. Of course I can neither back up, nor make any use of what has already been backed up.

 

I would like a refund from Symantec for every day of non-use.

 

Please give a solution.

Hi @Robert333 ,

 

If you still have the Norton Online Backup program on your computer and present in the system tray, then over-installation of Norton Online Backup program from portal should fix this issue. I see from your first post that the Norton Online Backup client download attempt is failed. Can you please try downloading backup client again and let me know if you see any error message for the download?

I cannot download Norton Online Backup client. It will not download and I have re-tried it on a number of occasions.

 

As for installing over the top, you will also see from my original message (and see quote above) that this was carried out, and that it made no difference.

Robert333, are you getting any error message when you tried to download Norton Online Backup client from Norton Online Backup portal? Have you tried downloading the client from different browsers?
