Has this issue been resolved. I have the same problem as Beetle (message 14) with the same build of S&R on a Sony Vaio laptop with Vista Home Premium SP1. Running driver validation from the installation CD shows that the following devices do not have drivers on the SRD:
Ricoh Memory Stick Host Controller
Ricoh SD Bus Host Adaptor
Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100
WAN Miniport (SSTP).
I tried the workaround solution suggested by Beetle Message 18 but this did not work and when I tried to create the Custom Recovery Disk, I again got an error EC950008 Driver Mining Failed error message.
If it has not been resolved, the next question is, does it matter that I cannot create a Custom Recovery Disk. If the SRD will boot the machine in the event of a failure I would want to restore the computer from a portable external hard drive connecting through one of the USB ports. Am I right in believing the the SRD contains the drivers for the USB 2.0 ports and therefore missing the drivers listed should not be a problem for system recovery?
