K....first the set up.....I'm running a dual boot machine....vista home premium.....64 bit and 32 bit, 2 separate drives.....drive one is raid stripe (64 bit)....drive 2 is one terabyte (32 bit) which is used for a complete backup of the raid (I chose not to go mirrored....).....I also have a portable 500gb drive......

the 32 bit drive runs norton ghost 12.0 monthly to back up the 64 bit complete drive....no problem......

the 64 bit drive runs norton ghost and backs up files and folders only, every 3 days......

One of the 3 raid drives crashed and had to be replaced.....I was able to restore the drive thru gost from the 32 bit backup no problem....however, the backup was 28 days old....so all the files and folders in specific areas also have to be restored from the portable drive.....

Ghost does not recognize the backup, and I do a custom restore.....files and folders and try to import the backed up files and folder, but approx. 1/3 into the restore process I get hit with E4BC0012 (I hate that....)

Anyway, I have deleted the catalog.dat file, re booted....still doesn't work.......

I have checked to make sure my portable drive is set to performance in the policies/properties.....still does not work.....

what now????

Unfortunately, Norton Ghost 12 does not support dualboot setup, and depending on the RAID (hardware/software) that might also not be supported. Perhaps others on this forum have experienced a similar issue, and can help you with a workaround for the problem. I apologize for the inconvenience.
