Greetings;
Ive recently purchased a copy of Norton 360 5.0 and have installed it on two of three machines. In attempting to install it on my current machine, a laptop running Windows XP, I'm encountering an error. I run the installation via the AutoRun software, and after the Initialization, I enter the Product Key. Immediately after that it begins "Collecting Error Logs" followed by "Compressing Error Logs". Once it reaches 100% the Norton screen prompts me with simply an Error and tells me "An error has been encountered and installtion cannot continue." Then asks if I want to submit the report.
I have run the Norton Removal Tool. Are there any temp files hiding on my machine that I could delete to skuo this Error Log step? This machine did run Norton once upon a time.
I'm currently running Service Pack 2. And my mistake, Its a terribly hot day, and of course I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on this machine. My other Desktop was on XP. This error is for Vista.

I'll have to leave you to others to help you with the actual error situation.
On temp files -- if you open Windows Explorer (the File Manager aka My Computer) and right mouse click on your drive(s) you an select Propeties an on the General Tab is Disk Clean a Windows utilitiy that cleans up things like temp files etc. After it analyses you can select or deselect on the list what you want it to delete -- that might be a start.
