When I start up my computer, I get an Error message: "The Vulnerability Protection signatures are out of date. Please run LiveUpdate immediately to download the latest signatures." When I run LiveUpdate to Update Everything Now, however, it states that, "Your software is up to date." I am using Norton AntiVirus 12.0r254 on a Macintosh computer running OSX 10.7.1. What can I do to keep from getting the error message? Thank you.
I'm getting the exact same problem. And opening up the Antivirus application shows that it was recently updated. This is a problem with it not matching because it has caused some of my apps to freeze up/crash. Even my entire mac crashed. Not to happy about this. Wasn't a problem before.

Got the same thing for the first time today on one reboot of my Mac. On subsequent reboots the warning did *NOT* re-appear. NAV 12 reports that Vulnerability Signatures were last updated on 9/16/2011.
We're investigating this problem. The signatures on the LiveUpdate servers are actually a bit old, which means that our automatic publishing system has stopped working. We are investigating the problem. Sorry for the hiccup.
Your Mac is still protected however. Norton will use the existing signatures that you have, they are just a bit out of date. We'll get it resolved soon.
