Maybe, you need to update your NET.Framework

What is the OS and its version? .NET 4.0 shouldn’t still be enabled on Windows although it may still be installed. 6.0.33 is latest .NET version updated on my Windows 10 Pro machines. .NET framework is version 4.8.0.1. Does the OP have Visual Studio version 2022 or later installed?

I’m not trying to hijack this thread, i,ve just started getting the same problem after watching a movie on VLC player.
I have exactly the same message from norton, also aprox 60% of my desktop shortcuts have dissapeered ( the programs are still there and functioning ).
A full norton scan and a Malwarebytes scan have come up clean, i,ve checked the NET Framework and that is up to date.
Is this a genuine threat or just a false positive?
