Expired Subscription

I have a current subscription to Norton Security Premium w/Backup (expiration date is 11/30/2017).  When I pre-ordered the Norton Core router I downloaded and installed the Norton Core Security Plus Software (on 01/17/2017) on all my computers.  In the past week I have been getting "expired subscription" message when I open Norton Security.  However at the bottom of the window the Subscription  Status shows ACTIVE (there is a red bar across the bottom of the window).  Do I need to do something or just wait until I receive my new Norton Core router?

Thanks.

My trial subscription expired. I could not make the renewal information in the purchase confirmation email work, and did not ask for support until it was too late and then only with online support. I spent several online chat/help sessions and phone calls trying to relink to my "off line computer". The only solution offered is to upload all 5 GB of data again. I have a finite monthly bandwidth and my ISP charges $15/GB for overage. I want to be able to relink and resume my incremental backup to the original data uploaded.

Thanks.  That worked for me.  I didn't realize that that text was a link until you mentioned it and I moused over it.  Once it 'checked the status', the red bar went away.

Mr. Smith

On one of my computers I had to click on the "SUBSCRIPTION STATUS" link on the main Norton window and log into my account  after the LiveUpdate before the error went away.

I had exactly the same message today.  I was confused, since I have auto-renewal active.  I logged in to MyNorton website, which says my subscription expires on 3/20/2018.  I still get the 'expired' message when I launch Norton.  I notice that the "Renew Now" link does nothing.  I will try Live Update and see if that fixes it.

Live Update didn't help. It checked for updates and said none needed to be applied.  I am still 'expired', but I can get to the main screen by clicking 'Remind me later'.  I notice that Norton Mobile (on my phone) says my subscription is still active, so this must be an issue with the Windows app.

Yes the red bar did disappear.  Back to normal.

Ron

Thanks for letting us know it is working again.

Ron

Did the red bar at the bottom disappear with this latest change?

Mine corrected itself also.  After previous post I reran LiveUpdate and whatever it downloaded appears to have corrected the problem.

Thanks all

Ron

When I click on Remind Me Later I get the screen below (normal except for the red bar at the bottom).  I do seem to have fully functioning product.  I did try the Subscription Status link with no change.

It's fixed for me. Happened while I was typing my second message. PFM.

I would suggest you both revert back to your current Norton Security product until the Core ships. That way you should have the full functionality back again without these confusing messages.

Try looking for your product key from the old subscription, then click Renew and look for a link for I have a key or code. Click that and then enter your old key. Hopefully that will reset your subscriptions.

If that does not help, you should Contact Norton Support and ask how to fix things.  www.norton.com/contactcs

I'm probably hallucinating again, but my guess is this has something to do with having a Core Subscription, but not having paid for it. My Symantec Core order confirmation was back on 1/5/17. Maybe this is a billing/subscription issue where the subscription is "active" but billing thinks it needs to be renewed because the Core hasn't been paid for?

A different thread says maybe the Core ships 7/10 - when I'll get billed for it. Some sort of pre-billing issue perhaps. Annoying but Norton still seems to be working. If they cut me off because I need to "renew" my subscription, then I would have a real problem.

I have exactly the same problem. Started about a week ago. Subscription status link shows "active". The tray icon is grayed out except for "Subscription Expired: Renew" and "Open Norton Security".

In my.norton.com/Devices/Home/List it shows this pc with a green check mark, Norton Core Security Plus Annual Subscription Active and a product key.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. Our other PC was not upgraded to Core Security Plus and it's fine.

That is very confusing. If you click on Remind me Later, does it take you to the main Norton Security screen? Do you then have access to the Norton Security features?

Did you try the Subscription Status link I suggested above?

Thanks for the reply.  It does show Active and the green check mark is there, it just confused me.  Here is a screen print of what I see.

NortonScreen2.jpgThanks.

From your main Norton Screen, click on Help - Subscription Status to sync your computer with the subscription servers. It should show the remaining time on the subscription.

As long as your product is showing Active, and the Norton icon in the system tray has a green check mark, your system is protected.

Next time you get that message, please post a screenshot. Blank any personal information, your email address.
