Is there any way to export my logins and passwords in a way that could be imported into a different password manager? I'm not sure I'm going to stay with NIS when my current subscription expires in December. I have NIS2010. I found a thread on this from 2009 with no resolution. I suppose this could be seen as a way to lock users into continuing to use NIS, but I would hope that Symantec would be more customer friendly than that.
I'm assuming I'd need to export into some common format that could be then read into other applications.

By the way, since you have got NIS 2010, you can upgrade to NIS 2011 for free :-)
Sorry I missed that the OP has NIS 2010 currently.
Tom, you can go to http://updatecenter.norton.com/ to get to NIS 2011 after which you will be able to export your Identity Safe passwords to CSV as outlined.
Yaso, the second half of that document will still export as an NPM file which can only be read by NIS and N360. The first half of either of the documents you and I referenced is the one to use for exporting to CSV.
Tom, as a precaution you can back up your Identity Safe using the second half of the document just in case anything were to go wrong with the NIS 2011 installation. But again the first half of the document is what will export to a CSV file.
Also as a precaution you can retrieve your product key for NIS from your Norton Account.
As a side note, perhaps you will like NIS 2011 enough you won't want to leave. As per the norm, 2011 is much improved over 2010.
