Express Renewal just paid: no renewal delivered

Hello,

I just paid the express renewal (after several pop ups from Norton to do it since a month ago or something) and I still only have two days left with protection.

Can anyone please tell what's the story with this?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I wasn't expecting this and I didn't register with Norton prior to the renewal (at least as far as I remember I just registered after when I saw that it didn't renew).

And a friend paid with her credit card so I guess I'll ask her about the billing.

But I see now, in the recipt, that the renewal date is on the 20th, so I guess I have to wait and see. It seems tight to leave it untill after one's antivirus expires.

Regards,

V.

When you place an order for renewal, an order confirmation will be sent to the email address used to place the order. It will be having the renewal code. You can use the renewal code to get the correct subscription.

Try clicking on Support>check subscription status.  If the payment has been registered, it may update itself.  Check the number of days remaining.

Hello vasco

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Also please check your spam detector to see if the email was delivered there. Thanks.

jithinpk, delphinium and floplot,

Thanks for your feedbacks.

It didn't ask for any email. Just ask for the payment  after which it issued a receipt as I mentioned before. I went back to my norton and clicked "express renewal" to see what would happen and it did came up:

"Your protected. Our records indicate you enrolled in Best Buy's Automatic Renewal Service."

My norton says "1 day left" and the receipt sets the renewal date for the 20th. I hoping tuesday first thing it will appear renewed.

Hopefully my next message here will be to say all is ok.

Regards,

V.

Hello vasco

Did you renew your Norton product thru Norton or thru Best Buy. ? If you bought it from Best Buy, I believe you should be renewing it thru Best Buy. I suggest you contact  Best Buy,

For activation and subscription related issues, contact the Customer Service in Best Buy through their 1-888 number and ask for Subscription Software Team. These products are having special subscription service which are usually bundled with new computer purchased from Best Buy. I don't think that the license agreement is same as retail.

This is a quote from Yogesh. I would suggest contacting Best Buy Subscription Software Team and see what they say about your renewal.

Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

Hello, Just got my year subscription.

I clicked "renew" in the Norton window and after i clicked "If you are having problems with your subscription" and Norton 2012 download appeared and nex thing I noticed i got my 365 days protection. It was strange that it didn't show up all of the stages presupposed when you start the download, but nonetheless it's solved.

I don't know where to click for "solved" if indeed it is I that am supposed to do it. If not and it is someone else in the forum, please do.

Thanks everyone for the support.

Update:

It did showed up all the presupposed stages. They just took a while. Eventually a window appeared asking to inserd the Product Key followed by a Restart.

Thanks again.

vasco,

Thanks for the quick Update ... glad you are OK,.

Hi Hugh and all,

No problem. I hope this can help in some way. The only thing I didn't notice was if this operation I made today, i.e., going throught "Renewal (...) Download, etc"  as I described it earlier, could have been made before the expiring day as it would save some worry. I can only stay with perhaps yes, perhaps not, or leave it to figure out next year.

Regards,

V.

I hate to suggest anything with this being a Best Buy renewal if I understand correctly.

But in principle you can RENEW at any time and the new time is added to the old.

If you BUY A NEW KEY (by buying a new copy) then it replaces any unexpired time ..... But the good news is that the OnLine CHAT Support team have a great reputation for helping people by adding this lost time back in if you contact them about it.

However I still have the slight reservation that if this involves Best Buy as the route to renew then .... I don't know.

Quite an interesting thread with this level of intergation between Best Buy and Symantec.

Didn't know about it. Then again I don't live in the US.

Nor is Beast Buy .....

Other Best Buy sites:

Best Buy UK -Best Buy US - Best Buy Canada -- Best Buy Mexico  <s>

And I've seen other linked versions like an Office Depot N 360 some years ago that had a link to them for computer serviing.
