Facebook/Farmville App Not working

Two days ago, my daughter tried to play Farmville (allowed), but it will not let her past the loading screen - either through the Facebook bookmark or the Farmville.com site.  This has never been an issue before and there is no message saying the site is blocked.  I have updated the Flash Player (which was current anyway), since that can be a problem with the app itself.  The site is set to allow in the following ways:

facebook.com

apps.facebook.com

farmville.com

zynga.com

I would really appreciate any help you can provide as to why we can no longer load this site.

Thank you!

And I meant to add that she can access the site through my computer using her account info.  Have checked the Norton Safety Minder, but can't find anything wrong there either.

And one more, as I see that they want addl info:

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2

AV: Norton Internet Security 16.8.0.41

Safety Minder version 1.2.2.2

IE 8  8.0.6001.18904

Child has standard account

Hi HBsMom,

Please tell us if the application loads successfully if you log onto the PC using the Windows account which is not being monitored?

Also, please check if the Gaming category is unblocked (without X) under Settings -> Web for the kid's account.

We've been trying to reproduce it, but had no luck so far and will continue to try it.

Thanks,

Katie

Thank you for responding, Katie.  Sorry I didn't post a follow-up about this.  I spent about 5 hours on Sunday trying to figure this out.

Yes, I can log onto the site on any other account on the computer.  I have the gaming and social/networking categories unchecked and also have those specific sites as "allowed sites".  She had been having no problem accessing the site until about two days ago.

It appears that she has to run Internet Explorer as administrator (Windows, not Norton setting) to make it work.  Unfortunately, I can not get the "Run as Administrator" option to save/apply for all accounts.  Every time she tried to run IE it would make me put in my administrator password.

For now, I have just changed her to an administrator, while I continue to have Norton set to monitor/control site access, while I try to find a better solution.  Luckily, she is still young enough to not be tech-savvy enough to (nor does she want to) bypass the Norton settings.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to get this one program (Internet Explorer) to run as Administrator for all account types, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

HBsMom,

Thanks for the update.  Looks like the application requires to be run with administrative rights.

Thanks,

Katie
