A Norton Antivirus notification message appeared "You are no longer protected,. Renew now." Well, I was surprised as my subscription falls due mid-year. I logged into My Norton and it says my subscription has 116 days to run. Why do I get false expiry notifications? And, I have seen these and similar messages before. A few months back I received regular emails - from noreply@family.norton.com, which looks legit to me - counting down the days to expiry of a non-existent subscription - "You have just 7 days left …" etc. After confirming expiry is NOT imminent, I ignore them. But it's a pain - and a little worrying. I will attach a doc with today's messages (and a sample of the earlier emails.)
It is possible that a Windows or a Norton update may have reset the subscription information on your computer. Or if you ran any cleaner utility, it may also have reset the subscription info.
Thanks. I have done that and it seems to have worked. But why should I need to do this? I have a number of subscriptions and none have ever (even once) given a false expiry notification. Norton products have made a habit of it.
Open your Norton product and click on Help - Subscription Status to sync your computer with the Norton servers.
