After installing NIS 2010, disconnected (non-active) users (from Fast User Switching) appear to be logged off by NIS after a short (10 min?) timeout period. Also, RDP users are kicked off due to an idle timeout. Cannot find any setting in NIS to adjust/disable/document this behavior. Any insights?
This was not the case before installing NIS. Environment is XP SP3 with the terminal services patch (http://alonbilu.wordpress.com/2008/05/17/enabling-multiple-concurrent-remote-sessions-on-windows-xp-sp3-patched-file-included/)
System was infected (then cleaned) with a Help Assistant rootkit previous to installing NIS 2010 which may or may not be a factor.
Thanks in advance,
Matt
