Feedback - I wish Norton would add more compatible browsers to the Web Protection feature

My feedback is about Norton 360 on Android. I use Norton 360 on my device but I do not use Google Chrome to browse the Internet. So I wish Norton would add more compatible browsers to the Web Protection feature like Microsoft Edge , Firefox and others.

[Edit: Clarified Subject]

What the Web feature does is stop suspicious sites from loading in the first place. Without the Web Protection feature, the other layers of protection in the 360 app would protect you if something got to your system from an unprotected browser.

So do you think even know I am using a Browser that is not compatible with Safe Browsing. I am still safe and the 360 give me enough protection?

Thanks for the information.

In addition, I share with you an official list of browsers compatible with Norton Safe Web on Android. I stumbled upon this by chance today :

Norton 360 mobile app >> Android >> Browser Support for Web Protection:

  • Android standard browser

  • Firefox for Android 42.0 or later

  • Google Chrome 43.0 or later

  • Google Chrome Beta 45.0 or later

  • Opera 31.0 or later

  • Opera mini 31.0 or later

  • Samsung standard browser 5.0 or later

  • Instagram 24.0 or later

Good evening,

I also share your analysis which seems quite logical.

I remind you that this community is a place of exchange between users. As a customer, I unfortunately do not have the answer to this technical and strategic question related to the brand. On the other hand, it is a very good suggestion for improvement.

Without scattering the teams unnecessarily, I hope that you will be heard for the widening of the compatibility of the consideration of browsers running under the Chromium engine. wink

Best regards.

Let me ask you a question we all know Google Chrome runs on Chromium. But so does Edge and Brave Browser and I am guessing more. So that being said do you think Web Protection could work on them? Or does that have nothing to do with it? You would think it could be easy to add the other browsers.

Thank you for this info @cuse165,

In my mind, however, the most interesting list to complete was that of compatible browsers to allow users to make a choice and be well protected.

Have a good day.
