Hello,
I'd like to start a discussion of the usefulness of file and folder backups as structured by Norton Ghost in the everyday "best practices" for backup and system recovery.
I'm new to making system backups an important part of my day to day PC maintenance regimen, and GHOST seemd like a better extension of the somewhat lame backup and recovery strategies build into Windows (XP professional, specifically.)
I'd like to ask what do Norton users do for usable backup and recovery strategies on a day to day basis?
How does GHOST help? What features of GHOST make system protection work for you? What problems do you find inherent in using GHOST as an everyday tool?
As an aside, how does GHOST keep the history of version of files on a PC ordered and incrementally archived?
I hope this can be a running open discussion instead of just a "fixit" thread, and that this type of thread won't be stepping on anyone's toes. If this thread works out the way I hope, I may start other threads on Disk Imaging, Cloning, and catastrophic recovery. (Remember, I'm new to this..,)
Regards to all GHOST users,
Neil
