Issue abstract: How do I verify that my files are being backed up in this new version?
Detailed description: When I look at the file list that is supposedly backed up to my external hard drive, most of the backup dates refer back to my last backup with v22. Many files that I have updated since still have that old date and not a newer backup date. Also, many files that have been updated are flagged as “waiting for backup”. What does that mean? The display says that syncing as all done but it doesn’t look like all my changed files have been backup up.
Product & version number: Norton 360 24.12.9725
OS details: Windows 11 24H2
What is the error message you are seeing? Waiting for Backup
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:
Did you create and run new Local Backup with v24?
Are we only talking Local Backup or did you also run Cloud Backup?
regarding Cloud Backup & Local Backup
Do you have Back up common file types only = enabled (green)?
~ try disabled (red) + Sync
Please post your progress
Thank-you for the reply. The Cloud backup seems to be working fine. Local backups are the issue. I tried what you suggested but the results are still the same. Files that were updated before the full sync still show “waiting for backup”. It shows a small blue circle with an upward pointing white arrow next to the file name. Not all show up like that. When the mouse hovers over that symbol is when the message shows. I snipped my screen but I cannot figure out how to include it in this response. I copy it to the clipboard but when I try to paste, this is what I get:
Also, I see a different settings screen from what you included in your reply. I do not see the section entitled “Automatic backup of special files”. My next section just says “Delete Backup”.
I’d be happy to include screen shots if you can tell me what I’m doing wrong!
All I see is this. There is no scroll bar so that section doesn’t show up on my screen. .bcc files are the data files for a calendar app that I use. Those same blue circles show up on in various files in all my data folders: Word, Excel, etc.
