Firefox 40 Support for Norton Toolbar

The Norton Toolbar is now compatible with Firefox 40. We have released a Firefox 40 compatibility patch for Norton Security 22.5.2.15, Norton Security with Backup 22.5.2.15, Norton Internet Security, Norton 360, Norton Antivirus 22.5.2.15 & Norton Security Suite 22.5.2.15. The patch is also available for the Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 21.7 and Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 20.6 products which is available via Live Update.

The versions for this compatibility update are as follows:

Norton Security, Norton Security with Backup 22.5.2.15, Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 & Norton Antivirus 22.5.2.15:

Norton Toolbar: 2015.5.2.24

Note: This patch does not require reboot on Windows 10, Win 8 & Win 7 machines


Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 & Comcast Norton Security Suite 21.7.0.11:

Norton Toolbar: 2014.7.12.35

Note: For the 21.x update, this patch does not require reboot on Win 10, Win 8 & Win 7 machines.

Norton Identity Safe Standalone [IDSS] - 2014.7.11.42

Norton Toolbar: 2014.7.12.35

Note: This patch requires a machine reboot.

Important Note: Beginning with Firefox 40, Mozilla will sign and verify all the extensions that you Add-On to Firefox. 

According to Mozilla: Mozilla will begin requiring all extensions to be signed in order for them to be installable in Release & Beta versions of Firefox. Signing will be done through addons.mozilla.org (AMO) and will be mandatory for all extensions, regardless of where they are hosted.

Update: Norton Toolbar extension is now Signed / Verified.  [Signed/Verified Norton Toolbar not yet available 2013 products]. This patch should remove the "Not Verified Caution" message

We recommend that you have the latest version of Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup or Norton Internet Security or Norton 360 installed. If you are not seeing the Norton Toolbar in Firefox 40, check and make sure you're running NS, NSwB 22.5.2.15, NIS, N360, NAV 22.5.2.15, NIS, N360 21.7.0.11. Please visit our Norton Update Center to receive the latest update.

You may need to run LiveUpdate and reboot a few times before your product is completely updated to the latest version. It will appear in the LiveUpdate history as Norton Toolbar Add-on for Firefox.

If you are running Firefox 40 and Norton Security, Norton Security with Backup 22.5.2.15, Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 22.5.2.15, Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 21.7.0.11 and still do not see the Norton Toolbar, please ensure the Norton Toolbar plugin is enabled. You can do this by clicking on the Firefox menu, selecting Add-ons, and then clicking Enable next to Norton Toolbar.

Please note: Beginning with the Firefox 36 release and onward, the Norton Internet Security 19.x & Norton 360 6.x products will no longer receive Firefox compatibility patches. The latest versions Norton Internet Security & Norton 360 (21.7)  and Norton Security & Norton Security with Backup (22.5) will receive the updates. With your current paid subscription, you are entitled to download the latest version of your Norton product during your service period. http://updatecenter.norton.com
