Firefox blocking Java Deployment Toolkit plugin

Just a heads-up for Firefox users who have got the Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.180.7 plugin. Firefox has deactivated this plugin due to security reasons. You will get a pop-up from Firefox telling you that it has blocked said plugin.

The blocked plug-in will be greyed out and sport a red exclamation mark:

5100iAE716A73692F1A7E

You can read more over here on blocked add-ons and plugins:

I wonder if there is any way to just delete it ?  I had to delete two older versions in the extensions just this morning. I kinda wonder why they just disabled it instead of getting rid of it?

I copied this from another forum in case anyone wants to just get rid of the older version. It worked fine.

"Instead of disabling it, you can cleanly remove it by going to

C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\new_plugin\

and removing or renaming "npdeploytk.dll"

If you have updated JRE, you should have a current version in your plugins folder, but it will be named differently:

npdeployJava1.dll

This file does not have the vulnerability.
