I was watching a few vidoes on YouTube and I noticed in the top right corner there was a shield I'd never seen it before so I clicked it and it explained that It was blocking something on the webpage that must of had something wrong with it. I was just watching a normal YouTube video and when I went back to the prevouis webpage which was also still on YouTube but just a different video it was all normal and only showed the grey globe in the top left. What does this mean? I got no notifcation from Norton so I'm not going to run a full system scan because I see no point (I ran one yesterday and only got cookies) Just to add there was a advert on the side of the page which just said Loading... So I'm guessing that may of been the part of the website that was blocked.
Here is a link of a picture of the shield in the top left corner of YouTube I got this link from clicking on the shield in the top left!

Thanks a lot Apostolos I’m still going to mark you as the solution because you clarified this for me so thanks a lot. And is it normal to sometimes get the grey globe in the top left on webpages?
Firefox uses a padlock icon next to a website's address to let you know your ... The Site Identity Button is in the Location bar to the left of the web address. ... Most websites will have the gray globe, because they don't involve passing sensitive ..
If you Google search Norton Community you will get a https version. Since you aren't doing any finacial transactions etc you would be better off bookmarking this site - http://community.norton.com/
But when I clicked on the URL that you pasted above, Firefox automatically added the "s" to http. It must be due to the way I had set up my browser. Actually, I prefer partial encryption to none at all.
I just wanted to show AudiA1 this. When I said I was "disturbed" by this above, I wasn't really. I was being facetious--hence, the smiley.
Hi Krusty13 and Inquirer Thanks for more information on this situation. I believe when I use the forum on my laptop I get the grey globe on the top left which I know is fine but I’ve never seen the shield Intill I watched that youtube video!
Thanks a lot guys P.S Well done Inquirer for your rank up! Best Regards.
Once they've approved the image I posted earlier, you'll see what I'm talking about. Alternatively, you can just click this link in FF and see for yourself: https://community.norton.com/
Hi Inquirer I’ve just seen the image you’ve posted. I think I may of seen that before but I know for sure I sometimes see the the triangle with the caution sign inside it! But when I refresh it goes back to normal.
Because I don’t use the forum a lot on my computer I wouldn’t be able to tell you about that one but for example when I’m on Twitter sometimes I get the triangle in the top left but if refresh it, it then goes back into the normal green padlock on Twitter.
And I may of seen it a few times on YouTube where it has the triangle and then when you refresh it goes back to the normal grey globe but I cannot be sure for certain!
I see. You may find the following info useful. If you're on a login page, such as for e-mail, bank, e-commerce, etc., chances are, they are totally encrypted (no mixed content). That means when you're on such a website, you ought to see either a gray or green padlock in FF (it's slightly different in different browsers), along with http followed by "s". A gray padlock indicates that the website provides more than adequate encryption for the data that is exchanged between FF and itself. A green padlock indicates greater security. So, if you are about to log in to an account at any kind of websites mentioned above in FF and instead of seeing either a gray or green padlock with http followed by "s", you see a shield and triangle, you should refresh the page in order to make the padlock appear and replace the shield and triangle. If that doesn't work, refrain from logging in--the login page is not secure. Then there are login pages, such as the one on Norton Community where no matter how many times you refresh the page, you will never be able to get the padlock to appear in FF. That's okay, since it's just an online forum--it doesn't need to be that secure.
If it is a gray globe, that means there is no encryption whatsoever of the data being exchanged between FF and the website. That is not a cause for concern when you are on pages of the website that are unrelated to login or the account dashboard (after you log in). Think of it in this order in FF:
Full encryption: gray or green padlock along with http followed by "s".
Partial encryption (mixed content): shield & triangle along with http followed by "s"
