I bought a QNAP TS101 and now have the following problem.

Using 'my computer' i cannot connect to the network storage using a mapped drive without turning off the firewall. Once the connection is made I can turn on the firewall and access the network storage folders without a problem. It is just whether the 'connection/initiation command' is blocked, but not data transfer. Everytime when I reboot the computer I have to switch of the firewall to make the connection happen. The whole thing is very repeatable. When I originally mapped the drive I also had to switch of the firewall to make it happen.

I have set the device as fully trused in my 'network security map' but that does not seem to make a difference compared to 'shared'.

I can reach the storage folders through the web interface without the need to temporarily turning off the firewall, only when I use 'my computer'.

I guess I need to do something to the firewall settings but prefer not to experiment.

Regards,

Peter
