Firewall keeps asking for app permision

It seams I keep having problems in the past few days. And since I already have some active topics around I decided to ask something that's bothering me ever since N360 v1(or 2).

I keep  the Smart Firewall ON and the Automatic Program Control OFF so I can see what apps need Internet access.

However, some apps keep on asking for permision even if I blocked the access. In fact this is not the problem, the problem is that N360 keep alerting me even if I created a rule for that app. Yahoo! Messenger, Adobe products and Steam are the most annoying when it comes to this. Every time I start one of those I keep getting alerts. The "king of annoyness" is Steam. Everytime I start it I get about 20 alerts for the same  Steam.exe but for different modules.

The allert is something like this: "APP_NAME is trying to access the Internet using one or more unrecognized modules" .

Any idea how to solve this? It's getting annoying.

Thanks for your reply.  However, I do like to know what app is trying to connect to the net. Besides there are other situations. For example, I used "AdBannerRemoverPlus" to get rid of all those adds in Yahoo! Messenger and N360 detected Yahoo! Messenger.exe as a threat. I added to the ignore list but evey time I wanted sign in I was getting a "Block" recommandation even if I created a rule for it and also "trusted" the file. In this case, turning Silent Mode on made it imposible for me to sign in so I had to restore the original file. And this is not the only case. This is why I prefer keeping it OFF.

Hello daydr3am3r

It's detecting Yahoo Messenger as a threat because you are trying to alter the program. You can't have it on an ignored list and then put it on a trusted file list. You are getting the Fire Wall all mixed up. There must be another program that you can use to monitor the access of programs to the net than fooling around with the firewall which is trying to protect you. Unless you are an expert about knowing what is safe to be on the web and what isn't, it really is best to let the firewall do what it is supposed to do and that is being "Smart" about protecting you.

The final choice is up to you though.

OK. I'll turn APC ON. Thanks.
