This doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be a pain. I connect to a client's network via VPN and we have frequent meetings using Microsoft Live Meeting 2007. Most of the time it works OK, but about every 3rd or 4th time I use it, I can't get the audio to connect (microphone is grayed out).
Sometimes, I exit and reconnect and it's ok. Other times, I open up a different browser and connect and it's ok. Still other times, I have to reboot my PC to get it to work. Mind you, while the issue is happening, I can use the microphone/headset for other applications, just not Live Meeting.
Today I connected to a meeting and it worked fine. A few minutes later (after exiting the first meeting) I connected to another meeting and couldn't get audio. As the meeting had already started (I usually connect 15 minutes early to in case I have to reboot), I couldn't reboot, so I had to call in by phone.
Later, I discovered that if I temporarily turn off my Norton firewall (Norton Internet Security, which is up-to-date), the audio kicks in. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that will prevent this, but I haven't been able to find it.
Can anybody help?
TIA...Tom S.
P.S. After a while, I get an error message that the audio wasn't working and the following details are displayed:
