I am trying to use Limewire and even though I’ve used it before it all of the sudden won’t let me connect because of my firewall. I don’t know what to do.
I am having the same problem. Limewire is not exactly helpful. I would need insturctions on how to configure Norton.
hi how111now - when you say that you "have same problem", do you mean with limewire? if so, the instructions on their site provides a step-by-step on how to configure Norton to work properly with them. did you try them and they didn't work? Sometimes if you removal all the rules (reset option) and se-up for prompting (when the firewall is being queried for access, you can quickly configure the firewall properly. i have noticed that the "custom" designation in Norton's application rules sometimes creates problems for applications where "allow" does not.

hi lynsey27 - while files exchanged in this fashion can pose threats, and i would advise caution, i believe that the good support at Limewire have some help for you here:

I have Norton Antivirus 2012 on a Windows XP 2007 system. I keep getting a message that says my computer is at risk. The firewall is turned off. I turn it back on only to receive the same message as a later date. I didn't understand much about firewalls until recently and realized that Microsoft also has its own firewall. Is there a conflict and what do I do about it?
I don't know anything about Macs but having both the device firewall and the router firewall enabled will not conflict and will provide you with one extra layer of defense.
I hope that helps.
