Formatted without uninstalling NIS

Well I recently just formatted my Laptop for a OS reinstall and I had forgotten to uninstall NIS beforehand. I'm assuming I cannot reinstall NIS without doing that (I'm on a 3 PC subscription and all 3 were licensed), so I would guess that activation would refuse my key telling me that I'm on my maximum license limit.

Though my laptop had it on before I formatted Windows is there anyway I can redeem that License install again since I forgot to uninstall prior to format?

:smileyfrustrated:

Thanks

@ Vileshadow,

I may be misunderstanding what you are saying, but if you reinstall NIS on the saem system - it should not count as an added license.  I'd try it and if it will not permit it, then contact CHAT as Hugh suggested.

Hey guys thanks for the replies!

yank, I've just tried to reinstal and looks like I don't need to contact support I was fearing it would not recongnise my laptop but it seems like it did! :smileyvery-happy:

Many thanks!

You are quite welcome - glad it was an easy fix!  :smileyvery-happy:

Hi Vileshadow,

I'm pleased you have found a solution to your enquiry. :smileyhappy:

If I may add my own take on this subject and from my own personal experience with a similar issue. If you re-format a disk it wipes out all traces of what software you may have previously installed and therefore un-installing NIS beforehand would have been totally unnecessary.

Therefore when installing the same program on a newly formatted drive you should not experience any problems other than perhaps the licensing issue which in your case has not been a problem.

All the best
