You cannot reply to forum notifications, as you found out. You need to click on the link at the end of the notification email to "Read more at the Norton Community" to take you to the reply to your thread.
Did you find the follow up email in your spam folder?
Yes it is from Norton and that was part of the deal when I agreed to renew my coverage.
I replied to the email, so will see if I get an answer.
I also got the following message when I replied to your email:

The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try double-checking the recipient's email address for typos or unnecessary spaces.
First thing is to check the email sender's address against this information. Is this email from Norton legitimate?
