Free upgrade offer to Norton 360 with LifeLock

I currently have a subscription to Norton 360 Premium. I received an email from Norton offering me a free upgrade to Norton 360 with LifeLock for the remainder of my current subscription. There's no offer code, just an Upgrade for free button.

Clicking on the link takes me to Norton's website, where it says my cart is empty. I called Norton. They told me the only way I can get the LifeLock subscription is to give them my SS number and DOB. I have to give it over the phone to a person. They claim they can't upgrade my subscription and let me enter the information securely online afterwards.

Has anyone else been in this situation? What did you do? The rep I talked to checked with someone else, and they verified this. I'm wondering if they were all mistaken. If not, this seems like a really bad idea.

I verified the email did come from Norton, and the telephone number I called was for Norton. This wasn't a phishing attempt.

Thanks!

Norton 360 Premium is a one-year security solution subscription for up to 10 devices, available exclusively through retailers, including Amazon and Walmart.com in the U.S. On a case-by-case basis, we offer retailers the opportunity to distribute specially configured solutions from NortonLifeLock that may not be available for purchase through the Norton.com or LifeLock.com websites. Someone from Norton's Escalation Team called me. They figured out the problem. Since I bought my subscription from Amazon, as opposed to directly from Norton, it wouldn't let me do the upgrade online. The difference really doesn't make sense. It's a valid subscription and Norton is the one that sent me the upgrade offer. They said they would look into it.

They figured out a way to do it, so I got the upgrade. They even added some extra time to my subscription for the inconvenience. Now that's customer service.

The upgrade offer is adding the LifeLock credit monitoring service to your Norton subscription. You are being asked for this information over the phone for security purposes.

I'm able to submit SSN and birthdate required for credit monitoring online.

Hi baemon,
Since you run Norton 360 Premium (10 devices).
Were you offered an Upgrade to a Norton Security/360 sans LifeLock plan.
Or, is your Upgrade offer just for Norton 360 with LifeLock Select?

and your geo-location = United States?

Maybe, users current product, geo-location, days remaining or sun spots changes Upgrade for free* offer.
Sorry....

I can't get that screen. It's telling me I have to call.

I found an executive at Norton on LinkedIn that is a 2nd connection. I contacted him and he's actually having someone call me about the issue. So hopefully I'll get a resolution.

Just in case, please keep posting any suggestions. I'll post if it gets resolved.

After I sign in or when I'm already signed in, instead of getting the Enter additional account information section, it takes me to another screen that says, "It looks like you already have a subscription with us. Please contact Member Services & Support for additional purchase or upgrade options. Need Help? Call 1-800-590-1830".

I have no problem entering the information online in their secure form. When I called Norton, they didn't know what the problem was. They told me I would have to give them my SSN and DOB over the phone.

And the email and telephone number were both verified as being authentic.

I hear you....
Do you still have the email.  Maybe, try Upgrade for free* button from another browser.
Maybe, opt "View online" from the email...then try Upgrade for free* button from the online web page.

fwiw ~ I called the Upgrade for free* button from Edge > Gmail.
