Hello,
I seem to have ended up in a bad place after my machine crashed shortly after the reboot needed complete installation of a free upgrade patch to NAV 2011. The end result is that the installation has been left in limbo with NAV 2011 for the most part installed, but it will not run. Does anyone have a suggestion for what I can do to trigger the installer to complete the installation?
Below are some relevant information and the things I have tried:
- Upgrade was from either NAV 2009 or NAV 2010 (I forget exactly)
- OS is Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3
- Found and executed InstStub.exe buried in the “Program Files\Norton Installer” directory, it simply reports that the installation has been completed and a reboot is required.
- Unable to uninstall NAV through Windows Add/Remove Programs (it appears in the list but cannot be uninstalled).
- Downloaded AutoDetectPkg.exe from Norton, it was unable to find any installed product.
- Downloaded NAVDownloader.exe and used it to download and commence installation of NAV 2011. The download portion completes normally but once in the installation phase the installer/downloader simply doesn’t do anything (it doesn’t crash, but according to the Task Manager there is no activity from the process).
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
