Full Scan System Freeze

Every time I try a full scan my whole system freezes and I have to power down. It always freezes at the same point: scanning commonly infected areas and start-up files....  Checking for:INFOSTEALER.SNIFULA.B

Even the clock stops.

 

I would appreciate any help that can be offered.
