Full system scan

For a long time my Friday evening full system scan ran as normal. The in Oct 2021 it started to take around 6 hours to do when a week earlier it had been around 4 hours give or take a few minutes.   This kind of bounced around for a couple of months then every scan in Dec took about 6 hours. Then the first scan in 2022 was back to about 4 hours. The number of files scanned didn't change much some of the 6 hour scans were actually of fewer files.  Was there some sort of new feature added to Norton or Windows at this time?

Using Windows 10.

I need help, step to step to do full scan

I open  internet explorer , open internet security 2010 I go to  application rating insight  I click standard trust and show  85 trusted needs 15 % to be scanned, then I go to the main Norton window I click Scan and I click the full scan he star the scan but after an how he scan more than 100,000 files and don't finish the scan then I have to stop the scan because 15% is not that amount of files.

Please help me don't send me to the Norton page because no explain any thing but what are the different scans.

                                                                                                   Thank you jucoe

Hi n2009user27,

Open Norton settings to Computer > Computer Scan and change the Scan Performance Profiles option to "Full Scan."

Thanks SendOfJive, that did the trick!

You're welcome.

Hi munken

Check out the link below.  Different scanners scan the files in a different way so the file amount can be different.
