I'm in a real bad spot. Because of a virus attack, I need to restore my C drive from a Norton 10 recover point stored on a separate drive. I have two partitions on drive 1 (C: and D:). I have backups, etc, on a 2nd drive (E). Both drives have raid shadow disks enabled, so there are actually 4 disks total.
When the recovery disk starts the recover software, it doesn't see either of the raid arrays, so it give the terrible "No recover points found in any of the recover point storage locations in this computer." When I try to choose, there are no disks.
BUT-- if I goes to the "Utilities" menu and look at the partitions, I can see drive 1 ad drive 2 fine (but only as a disk- not a file system)
The help says something about pressing F6 to be able to install drivers... but I can't get this to do anything.

mpettitt,
That's pretty standard. You have to browse for them.
But if Ghost can't see your HDs you will have to load RAID drivers, from a floppy I'm afraid. You will see F6 a few seconds after the Ghost CD starts loading.
I don't understand what you mean by being able to see the disk but not the file system but I assume it's because you don't have the correct driver loaded.
The software is able to tell me the disk size, partition type (NTFS), etc. Like I'm looking at the disk though a partition utility.
No floppy and no Ghost 15 recovery disk. I'll see if I can get it from the link.
System is a Dell 410 with Intel RAID drivers.
I also have recovery points on a USB drive, but it doesn't have it as an option either. The first time I did this, a couple years ago, it worked GREAT without any intervention at all. The only difference this time is that the recovery point that I want to use is on the 2nd RAID array instead of a USB drive.

Which OS are you using?
Don't ever see any F6 during boot of recover CD. Pressing F6 repeatedly also does nothing.
With the Ghost 10 disk you need to push F6 immediatly after the message to "push any key to boot from the CD"
If you use the F6 key as the "any key" and push it about 4 times in a row it should go into the screen to load a diver.
But thats not going to do much good unless you have a XP driver on a floppy.
Does your system still work good enough to copy the restore points onto your removable drive or is it unusable because of the infection?
Hmmm.... I'll give that a try.
I've been working since yesterday to get the virus to let loose. I have been successful in regaining control and the ability to run EXEs again and I'm running a virus scan.
There are already some old (before the Dec 1 full backup) restore points on a USB drive. It doesn't see the USB drive either, so I doubt copying the restore point to the USB drive will do much.
When the scan completes, I'll try doing a restore again.
I was able to do the F6 and get a screen to appear saying it would load a driver for "Intel(R) 82001GR/GH SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICT7R/DH}" which looks like good at first glance.
But, obviously, when I don't do anything further, it just enters the utility and can't access the disk.
OK. I will get the driver and put it on a flash stick and see if I can get through that way.
If your going to try the Ghost 15 disk, the driver is loaded later, after Ghost starts. (You don't use F6)
When it loads up all the way, first click "Analyze > Explore my Computer" and see if you can access the RAID drive because it may not need any extra driver.
If you can't access it then go to: Utilities > Load a Driver

If you run that file with an empty floppy in the drive it should make the floppy disk for you.
Or if you want to use the Ghost 15 disk you can extract that file with a compression utility into a folder and put it on a flash drive.

OK, I downloaded th R177881 driver and installed on a USB thumb drive as I don't have an A: drive but it just asks to put the driver(s) into the A drive.

This may sound really stupid but, if I have Ghost 10, how to I try the Ghost 15 disk? Is it available for download somewhere?
I spent most of 2 days trying desparately to use a recovery point someway/somehow and FINALLY, it's done!!! [[ Much joy and celebration!!]]
The Ghost 15.0 recovery disk did the trick. Downloaded on my laptop and burned the CD. When I got booted up, and tried to restore, it said once again, "No recovery points (found)...". But, this time, unlike the tries with the Ghost 10 recovery CD, the E drive was available to drill down to where the points were stored and VOILA!!!!
