Ghost 12.0 Issues

I have Ghost 12.0 on two Dell laptops for home use. Ghost worked fine on both systems for several months and still does on one of the PCs.  However, on the other one it takes forever to run back ups and a lot of times does not complete at all.  I have two types scheduled.  The first is complete back up of C:/ drive and the second is a dat/file back up.  Both are scheduled for once a week at different days/time intervals.

The C:/ BU runs but very slow (it can take more than 24+ hours to run) so usually we have to interrupt and not finish.   The successful BU run was on 4/13/09 and took what seemed like forever.

The data/file BU does not complete - runs very slow and then get an error message.  Here are the details of error:

Product: NSR

Version: 12.0.3.24711

Language: english

Module ID: 7043

Error ID: 18

Build: Symantec

I do not know how much informaiton is helpful but some additional...........

I have a performance monitor that I run where I can see details and the one thing I notice is when Ghost is running my CPU is pegging and stays between 85-100% with all resources going to the Hardware Interrupts (preventing Ghost form having use of resources to complete or anything else to run either).  As soon as I cancel the BU the CPU returns to 75-100% idle state.  Ghost is triggering something making the Hardware Interrupts suck up all the resources and bringing my pc to a crawl.  I did a BU on my other PC and it ran quickly and efficiently and there were no issues with the resources and even during the BU the CPU remained 75%+ idle and avaialble and no heavy taxing on the CPU for Hardware Interrupts.

I hope someone can help - I am exposed and unable to back up right now on one PC .

Thanks in advance for your help
