Hi Pascal,

Please provide any information on the number of drives you have, Operating Systems installed on them, and the exact options you chose when attempting to make a backup. Is this a multi-boot system? Unfortunately, Norton Ghost 14 does not support multiboot systems. You may want to get Backup Exec System Restore (the Enterprise version of Ghost) if this is the case.

Hi Tony,

I appear to be having a similar issue. I have installed Ghost 14 (plain old retail version) on a PC running Vista Ultimate (32 Bit) SP1.

The PC has a Intel Q6600 Quad core CPU, 3 Gb RAM, Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard and two Seagate 500 Gb Sata II hard drives. The hard drive are each separately formatted as NTFS partions. No RAID is being used.

After the install, only the non-system drive is visible, ie. drive E: is visible as a source and target, but drive C: is not visible as a source disk, so I can't back it up.

I tried the chat support option and after detailed discussion was told that the issue would be researched and  I would get a callback or an email ... nothing after a week. I then tried the phone option and got a much better response form the tech, but after much trial and error, he was also unable to assist.

I have done several combinations of reinstalling Ghost, moving drives to a different Sata port on M/board and finally, at the direction of tech support, disconnected the second drive, removed all Norton products with the Norton Removal Tool and did one last reinstall, but got the same result.

Any thoughts?

David Kery

Do you already have a backup job created for drive C:? Typically, during install, the Wizard guides you through the creation of a backup job for C:. If you already have a backup job for C:, delete it and then you'll be able to create a new one. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
